In January 2020, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected Gangneung of Gangwon province, Jeonju of Jeonbuk province, Mokpo of Jeonnam province, and Andong of Gyeongbuk province as the prime tourist destination cities. ‘Episode: Gangwon Gangneung’ will cultivate the city’s brand image with the theme “Beautiful City, Gangneung.” Gangneung is an Olympic city where tradition and the future exist in harmony, and is currently garnering much attention as a global tourism spot in the northeastern region of Korea This spot features popular overseas HALLYU content creators Hansol Jang (Indonesia), Atom (Taiwan), Jessica Lee (Philippines), and Tô Tôn Thành (Vietnam). Gangneung's natural resources, including its clean seas and forests, tangible and intangible cultural assets, and its Olympic heritage will all showcase the region to the world.
