Aron Bezzina's video: My free DIY 2005 Apple Cinema Display power adapter

@My free DIY 2005 Apple Cinema Display power adapter
I was given a 2005 Apple Cinema Display that worked although it was missing its power adapter. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a genuine Apple power adapter for it so I decided to go hunting through my box of old power adapters. I was lucky enough to find an old universal laptop charger that not only charged IBM Acer etc laptops but also charged the old Apple iBooks. The old iBooks use 24v and when I looked at the sticker on the back of this adapter I was very pleased to find that it could provide 2.9A@24v. I cut off the DC connector and put the adapter into its iBook setting, using my multimeter I was very please to see it was not actually providing 24v but 24.5v exactly what I needed and the screen only needs 2.6a so I was really in luck. I wired up the power adapter and it all worked. I now have a very nice display that cost me nothing :D
