Asha Leo's video: CHALLENGE ASHA: Asha attempts to beautify the earth

Murals build a sense of community. They transform run down or depressed looking areas into something that is welcoming and walkable (and instagramable ;) ). For my next challenge I teamed up with Ruben Rojas from Beautify Earth to paint a mural on a mundane looking, white wall. I learnt so much in the process, not just the painting techniques that Ruben shared with me, but more importantly the role murals play in helping to create a sense of ownership in a community. I greatly encourage you all to either team up with Beautify Earth or to find or start a mural painting group in your local area. Its so fun to be part of a team, creating something beautiful but to also be giving back to your community. The CHALLENGE ASHA series is all about conquering your fears and stepping out of your comfort zone. But remember, you don't have to be perfect first time! It's just an attempt, just the first step. Continually pushing yourself to reach your dreams, no matter how small the goal will only lead you on the path of living a richer, fuller life.
