Atheer Al's video: Fairuz: Kanou Ya Habibi : Polyushka Polye

This is one of the eternal works of Fairuz that featured in her musical 'Loulou' in 1974. Originally, and like several of the works of Rahbani Brothers, the music was taken from somewhere else; and this time from the works of the Russian composer Lev Konstantinovich Knipper (Лев Константинович Книппер) and his Polyushka Polye Russian army march music. Inspite of the intense reference to USSR and its formal glory, Fairuz managed to peel all the communism off the spirit of the music and insert love and drama instead as she played the character of Loulou that was imprisoned despite her innocence for 15 long years..
