Austin Schrock's video: These bass are FAT - MN Vlog 4

@These bass are FAT - MN Vlog 4
Welcome to the final video in MN! It's a sad parting, that's for sure. My time here has been simply wonderful. I love the people up here, and made some great friends. Having a adventure like this with my brother Zac was really good! I've done some sort of trip with others in my family, so it was really cool to do a trip with him. We made so many memories. Which video was your favorite? I think mine was last video, when we had that crazy feeding frenzy with the pike in the afternoon. It was so cool how they would just stop your lure cold! Northern are the first of the gamefish to spawn each spring, preferring water temps in the mid to upper 30s. They are known to make under-the-ice movements toward their spawning grounds in late winter. Northern spawn in and around shoreline vegetation such as cattails and bulrushes. This weed structure is often associated with bays. They are not alone in this preference of using shoreline vegetation and quiet bays as a spawning destination. By locating a large bay with a narrow but deep entrance, a natural funnel is formed that is an ideal spot for targeting the northern migrating to deeper water. By working sucker minnows on bobbers along deep weeds of this funnel, I have experienced some incredible success. These bays and funnels are easy to spot on a map and are just as easy to fish. And if your timing is right, the results can be memorable! By finding out the feeding patterns we were able to really latch on to some pike. If your fishing for a specific fish, you should spend plenty of time researching how, when and where to fish for them. By doing this you will save yourself a lot of frustration, and hopefully find success. Bass aren't hard to catch in Minnesota. In fact, it's not uncommon for bluegill anglers fishing with a worm or crappie anglers fishing with a minnow to catch a largemouth bass. Still, most largemouth bass are caught by anglers casting plastic worms, soft plastic jigs, tube jigs, swim baits, surface lures, spinners or small spoons.
