OK... this week we have two electric vehicles, going head to head (head2head) to see which is quicker - the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 or the 2022 Polestar 2? Both vehicles are dual-motor, all-wheel drive, so let's see which one will win in a quick race! Here's some blurb on each vehicle: Polestar 2: The Polestar 2 is an electric vehicle that combines the styling of a sedan, the practicality of a hatchback, and the raised seating height of a crossover. As part of Volvo’s EV subsidiary, Polestar, this model comes only with a large battery pack and an electric motor powering the front wheels—or two electric motors if you opt for the more powerful all-wheel-drive setup. Either way, it’s a pleasant car to drive, and its minimalist interior is spacious and appealing. The single-motor version offers up to 270 miles of range according to the EPA, while the dual-motor version is rated to deliver 260 miles of range. (Car & Driver) Hyundai Ioniq 5: The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a new all-electric compact crossover with advanced technology, futuristic styling, and a versatile interior. Intended as a Hyundai subbrand, the Ioniq moniker also applies to a flood of upcoming EV models, but the 2022 5 has debuted first. It features impressive charging speeds (up to 350 kW) and has an estimated driving range of up to 303 miles. Available with rear- or all-wheel drive, the EV ute makes between 168 and 320 horsepower. Its eco-friendly interior boasts a tech-centric dashboard, reclining front seats with footrests, and generous passenger space, making the Ioniq 5 a well-rounded package worthy of an Editors' Choice award.
