Please read below for more details: In this live session, Sadhana will draw upon her vast experience and extensive body of work as a music educationist to breakdown the fundamental elements of Indian Classical Music. She will take participants through the history and origins of this enigmatic musical form, analyse its evolution and spread over generations, and examine the fine artistic and cultural nuances associated with it by elaborating on the various musical and performative aspects involved and spotlighting distinct genres, iconic instruments and celebrated artistes. She will further explore the current position and future trajectories of this art-form, and underline the importance of contemporizing it to ensure its preservation and perpetuation. Finally, she will also draw an interesting parallel between Indian and Western Classical Music and highlight the various creative synergies and cultural differences between them. Our instructor, Sadhana Rao is an educational entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Art Links Learning, where she builds relationships with conservatories to take their evolved traditional and classical music to schools in a structured form for students and teachers alike.
