Pemantau media rasmi Singapura pada Selasa mengumumkan peraturan pelesenan bagi laman-laman web berita, termasuk portal Yahoo! tempatan, yang akan tertakluk sama seperti peraturan yang dikenakan terhadap media tradisional. Lembaga Pembangunan Media (MDA) dalam kenyataannya berkata, peraturan baharu tersebut akan berkuatkuasa 1 Jun ini terhadap laman web yang memperoleh lebih 50,000 pelawat unik daripada Singapura pada setiap bulan dan menyiarkan sekurang-kurangnya satu berita tempatan seminggu. Selain itu, laman web yang diberi lesen perlu memadamkan artikel yang boleh mengancam keamanan dan berbaur perkauman dalam tempoh 24 jam selepas diarahkan oleh MDA.-29/5/2013
