Sharing personal stories and insights into the making of the show and its theme, Sankofa, the three look at select pieces by Mumu Fresh, Gabriel Ramirez, and Timothy DuWhite—and share with viewers a new video for the song “Potent” by Dizzy SenZe, performed as part of the Never Records installation at BAM earlier this year. Word. Sound. Power. is an annual spring event at BAM and the premier showcase for hip-hop and spoken word performance. For more than 15 years, artists like Medusa, Toni Blackman, and Liza Jessie Peterson have brought their electric presence to the stage.
