PANBlast, a division of PAN's video: Super Service Challenge HCH Food Bank BLASTmedia

Since its establishment in 2009, the HCH food bank has collected and distributed over 275,000 pounds of food to local pantries, and the demand is rising. This year alone has seen a 53% increase in the amount of food required. Manned by 100 percent volunteer efforts, the HCH food bank operates in partnership with Meijer’s Simply Give program. The program allows shoppers to donate a portion of their sale to the food bank, which the food bank can then use at Meijer to stock the shelves. Thanks to Meijer, HCH food bank has plenty of funds to spend, and BLASTmedia was happy to spend them! We filled carts to the brim with a variety of delicious, kid-friendly snacks, complete meals, canned meats and breakfast supplies. In total, we ended up purchasing close to 2,000 pounds of food to deliver to the food bank. Afterward, we transported the goods over to the food bank, where we weighed each pallet of donated food and sorted it into like groups.
