Backpacking With Woodglue's video: PCT Backpacking Trip - Miles 152 thru 179

This backpacking trip on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT,) took my Son, Bigfoot and I from Hwy 74 near Paradise Café (mm 151.9) to Devils Slide Trail at mm 179.4 and down into Idyllwild, Ca (Humber Park). This trip occurred this past 04/12 thru 04/14, and it was 30.1 miles in total with a staggering 7,806 ft of climbing! This section of the PCT has been closed for several years due to fire damage. While it re-opened in Jan 2019, major winter storms hit the area just a month later. I still could not hit the trail to complete this section until some snow melted. Even so, and with several Thru Hikers getting off-trail to avoid this area, Bigfoot and I pushed forward and hit a lot of snow, icy snow-chute crossings and walking on snow bridges over seasonal creeks. It was a regular Winter Wonderland testing our ability and nerves at times. I parked my car at the Trail head at Hwy 74 with an Adventure Pass displayed in the vehicle. Nothing was wrong with the car when I returned 2 days later. Per PCT halfmile maps, there are several tent sites to camp along this route. Our tent was pitched at mm 156 and again at 170 at trail-side tent sites. Use of a backpackers stove as shown in this video does require that you hold a valid California Campfire Permit which can be obtained on-line.
