Traditional Animation Meme | Updog | Useless | MINOR FLASHING WARNING Please watch until the end to get all the deets! Just incase you've missed anything I'll leave some of the important bits down here: 1) Project Aurochs: Hey there! We've recently rescued four ex-bobby calves and set up an instagram account where you can follow their journey from dairy byproducts to members of the family. 🐮🌱 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/projectaurochs/ Our recently published Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/project.aurochs/ All four of the boys animated in this video are based off our rescue calves; Quincy (the golden Jersey), Hannibal (the one with the crescent marking in the animation, Norwegian Red cross), Pedro (the mini brown Jersey) & Zebedee (the Jersey x Hereford with white face markings). 2) Traditional Animation: Apologise for some of the jittery in-betweens, to make a long story short my tablet died (after only having it a few years) and Wacom is not being helpful at all, I will most likely never revive it. The entire animation was completed using traditional animation techniques without a Light-board or any form of measuring device. The majority of proportions were pure guess-work! I've mentioned below in the 'frame' section how long I spent on this if you're curious, and will happily let you know the 'step by steps' if that's what people want to hear! The process in all was massively time consuming but I'm a big fan of how the Line-art turned out when translated to photoshop. This was a great, big, chunky challenge: If you've been following my channel you'll know I haven't animated in years and to impulsively start with traditional animations of COWS (which I've never animated before) was risque! Storyline: Hannibal finds a magical book on the history of his species, cattle. At first, he is disappointed in discovering the fate of cows before stumbling across a page about the ‘Aurochs’. The magical book causes Quincy to grow eyes and awareness, he travels on his own to find the missing paper. The other herd members go venturing for more information about this cattle-like-beast with a wild, untameable spirit. Pedro and Zebedee explore an old cave whilst Hannibal further studies the book. Pedro discovers ancient cave paintings of the aurochs detailing their history, they were destroyed by humans. There is a page missing, Quincy returns with it. The page details that the once-powerful species, aurochs, are ancestors of the domestic cattle. The book accepts this page and stitches it back in. Quincy’s additional eyes disappeared, he has returned to normal. Cave-painting humans grow from the walls and try to hunt down the herd. Zebedee throws the book in the way of the spear that's hurtling towards Quincy, destroying it on impact. The cave-painting human disperses as the cursed book is destroyed. There are some more facts about aurochs over at @projectaurochs on Instagram! ------------------------------------------------------------- Frames: 60+ Time taken: I completed one 'shot' (1-4 seconds worth of animation) per day since the original meme was uploaded. Each 'shot' took approx 5 hours in total to draw, scan in, vectorise, colour & edit.
