In celebration of the 7th Episode of The Disney + Series The Book of Boba Fett, behold the Unboxing of the 1/6th scale Rancor monster from the 1983 film Star Wars Return of the Jedi from Sideshow Studios. Boba Fett's Rancor keeper describes Rancors as emotionally complex creatures who imprint on the first humans they see. Rancors are large semi-sentient reptilian carnivores native to the planet Dathomir (although also present on Felucia). Rancors were often seen as mindless, violent creatures due to their extensive use as fighters across the galaxy. Standing around five meters tall, with their long arms, immense jaws, and armored hides that could withstand blaster fire, they were formidable predators. Jabba kept a Rancor in a dungeon under his palace and fed his enemies to the hungry beast. Boba Fett was gifted a Rancor by Jabba's cousins, the twins, and Boba bonds with and learns to ride the beast to destroy his enemies of the streets of Tatooine.
