2000年8月、当時まだ大学生だったリーダー朝里勝久の呼びかけにより結成されたビッグバンド。プロ駆け出しの若手、学生バンドのスタープレイヤーを中心に構成された。バンド名の由来は、朝里とメンバーの大郷が、自分達の世代でこんなビッグバンドを作りたいと初めて話した場所が、ニューヨークの地下鉄「J-Line」車内であった事から。
