This is a 1966 Gretsch Country Gentleman played through a Vox AD15VT set to AC30TB w/ no effects. Min Bass, Min Mid, Max Treble. .010 -.046 nickel plated wire wound strings. The amp was close-mic recorded with a Tascam DR07 digital recorder and then mixed with the backing tracks created from the original recording. Compression was added during mixing. Also, a 1977 Rickenbacker 360/12 played through a Vox AD15VT set to AC30TB w/ no effects. Min Bass, Min Mid, Max Treble. Rickenbacker strings. Lennon played the rhythm part - with his Ric 325 - that I played with the Country Gentleman including the opening riff. Harrison played the Rick 360/12 rhythm part -- you can here the high A note played on the D string ringing in the original recording. There is a general disagreement as to who played the solo. John had played it when the Beatles performed it live in Hamburg and the Cavern Club, but the solo on the recording contains bits that I think were out of his skill range, so it is more likely to me that Harrison played it on the record. I used the tremolo bar during the solo -- it is difficult to see because of the way the camera shot was framed. I played the solo from the stereo mix, which is different from the mono mix solo, because it's the one with which most folks are familiar. I double-tracked the first half of the solo like in the stereo mix. My videos are really intended for accomplished guitarists who want to polish up their Beatles repertoire and can benefit from "seeing" how a song is played - I am not a guitar teacher and do not provide tabs. I welcome specific questions. If the various chords that I am playing are not familiar to you then I would suggest that you visit some of the many free guitar chord sites. I had to learn these songs by listening to vinyl records and watching live performances on tv.
