This is a different bow drill. I would say it’s a perfect tool to teach the process of primitive friction fire. The traditional bow drill relies on a bow and single cord where this one has two cords allowing for faster more efficient rotations and less down worth pressure. What started out as a review of a product quickly got my attention and surprised me. This bow drill is one of the best tools for teaching beginners, scouts, kids and enthusiasts of primitive fire. This should not be used to replace the traditional bow drill or a quick fix for bushcraft teachers, the importance of learning about the resources, materials and the process of gathering and processing the materials to make a tool that will aid you in starting a fire is far more important. in my opinion this bow drill is far mor efficient than the traditional one and if I have to take something away from this experience is the use of two cords in the way this bow drill uses.
