ALCOs with curve shaped hood in its Short hood forward version are often referred to as "baldie" by railfans for their appearance. Earlier many loco sheds used to possess baldies in their sheds. Now with most of them in rebuilt version have normal hoods. Moulali (MLY) shed in South central railways has one such baldie, still in its native form. Its WDM-3A 14041 - a palindromic number. This particular loco is still seen on mainline action hauling passenger and express trains on Secunderabad - Nanded section. On 24th February, 2020, MLY WDM-3A 14041 was seen hauling 57564 HS Nanded - Hyderabad Deccan passenger. Enjoy the musical chugging of ALCO as it accelerates on mainline of Cavalry Barracks.
