Ben Hedges - The Business Shifu's video: Trump Appears to CONFIRM Second Stimulus Check

Trump described the package as a bipartisan effort, which indicates it will have to include some of the things that were passed in the Democratic party's HEROS act that passed the house a few weeks ago. The act included more stimulus checks. SCRIPT Hey business warriors well everyone is talking about statements made by president Trump today that seem to confirm another stimulus check will be announced within 2 weeks. Now the statement was made in an interview with journalist Joe St George who asks Trump if there will be another stimulus check and Trump seems to reply that there will. Let’s first play the clip. [clip] So you can see Trump replies yeah we are, which looks very promising. But as he talks more he goes on to talk about a stimulus package without specifically using the word “check.” [clip] He just says we are going to so another stimulus package, when the reporter asks how much? Referring to how much the checks in the package will be for, Trump just says you will find out. However he does say it will be bipartisan which indicates the administration and the Republicans in Congress will have to compromise with the Democrats and stimulus checks were one of the things included in the HEROS act that the Democrats passed in the house a few weeks ago. Now the HEROS act was a very unrealistic proposal, there were a lot of things in there the Republicans wouldn’t agree to. But stimulus checks to individuals may be one of the things Republicans would accept in exchange for some of the items they want, like liability protections for businesses reopening. But really I wouldn’t say Trump’s statement today was a 100% confirmation that a second stimulus check is happening, but he didn’t deny it either so I would say a 50/50 chance or perhaps leaning more towards the side of second checks, so maybe 60/40. Earlier in the week treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin was interviewed by NBC news and he also did not rule out a second stimulus check and said it was being considered. [clip] He quickly changes the subject to talk about liability protections, but the reporter brings him back to the topic of a second check, asking who would get it. This is his answer… [clip] So notice he said it was very fair. Now one of the things that Republicans don’t like is the enhanced unemployment insurance that has lead to some people earning more on unemployment than they did at their jobs and has left out people who were essential workers and went to work the whole time of the lockdowns. That ends at the end of July and the Republicans don’t want to renew it. So doing a second check instead may be what they view as a fairer option and one the Democrats can accept as well, because they already passed a second check in the HEROS act. So guys it looks quite hopeful for a second check, but I still haven’t seen anything that says it is 100% confirmed, despite what some news outlets are reporting.
