Most people misunderstand the importance of fitness as an unsophisticated endeavor and others misunderstand spirituality as a mental and emotional hobby. Both are wrong and only Yoga and Tai Chi have at least built a life discipline around cultivating a physically fit body that can withstand the rigors of a true spiritual discipline.
