Dr. David Azul is a Lecturer in Speech Pathology, at La Trobe University Bendigo. A German Citizen, migrated to Australia in 2005, a parent, researcher, and writer. As a kid, spent life as a boy, but attended a very gender binary Catholic Primary School. Found trying to navigate the regulated German medical system difficult, including required examinations by psychiatrists, and having to attend court to be allowed to change name. Although free, felt pressure to have all the procedures, which at the time included at least one which has since been abolished/ruled unconstitutional.
