After moving to Melbourne from Adelaide, Matcho realised that people of colour lacked venues they felt were suitable for them to perform their spoken word and artistic creations, so Soul Lounge Melbourne was born. Spoken word can be profound, empowering, inspired, insightful, and enlightening, so each ready to speak artist must be empowered to be heard, safely, allowing presentation of culture, aspirations, and different experiences, to enrich each of those who take even just a moment to listen.
