Christy Rojas, from California in the United States, was living in Sydney with her husband Manu and her oldest son Luca in 2013 when she discovered that her second baby boy was in breech position at 28 weeks. Breech position, which means the baby is either feet or bottom down inside a mother's stomach, affects 4 in every 100 babies at full term and increases both the chance of complications during birth and the necessity of a Cesarean section. Scroll down for video Baby whisperer: Christy Rojas son Matisse was in the breech position at 37 weeks when Dr Andrew Bisits helped to turn him head-first in her stomach However Christy, 35, was determined to have a natural homebirth, and so spent several weeks trying to coax her baby to 'turn' on his own. 'Around 32 weeks I started to get more concerned because I really wanted a homebirth. I started various techniques to get him to turn on his own: acupuncture, chiro, moxa, inversions twice daily,' Christy told Daily Mail Australia. When none of the natural remedies were enough to encourage her son to move, Christy made the decision to speak with a doctor about an External Cephalic Version (ECV), in which an obstetrician uses his hands to manually turn a baby from outside the mothers stomach. Christy was put in contact with Sydney doctor Andrew Bisits, the director of Obstetrics at the Royal Hospital for Women, who has been labelled the 'baby whisperer' for his amazing work with breech babies. Gentle touch: after two attempts at an External cephalic version (ECV) Dr Bisits asked Christy to speak to Matisse to help him to turn Miracle hands: after Christy spoke to him, Matisse turned immediately under the guidance of Dr Bisit's hands At 37 weeks, Christy met with Dr Bisits for the ECV, which has just over a 50% chance of success in full-term breech babies. In the video, Dr Bisits is shown placing his hands on Christy's stomach, and pressing very hard to guide the baby sideways. After two attempts, the obstetrician asks her to speak to her baby, and when she talks, the baby flips, and she is able to feel his head down towards her pelvis 'There were two attempts to turn him which you see in the video. Then on the third he asks me to talk to my baby and as soon as I do Matisse flips over. It was a huge relief,' Christy said. While many women report that the procedure can be quite uncomfortable, Christy said that 'it was so gentle and easy.' Waiting for the big day: Christy was living in Sydney with her family when she gave birth to her son (pictured at 32 weeks pregnant along with eldest child Luca) Bundle of joy: Christy's labour lasted only only an hour before Matisse entered the world 'Dr Andrew is so calm and his hands are soothing.' While she said that if the ECV had not worked, she would have been satisfied knowing that Dr Bisits is an advocate for natural breech births, she is glad it was a success. 'If the version wouldn't have been successful I was thrilled to know that there was a local Dr that would let me deliver breech naturally in the hospital setting,' Christy said. 'But I really wanted a homebirth so I'm very glad it worked!'. Three weeks later, Christy was able to deliver at her family home in Randwick- something that would have been impossible without the aid of Dr Bisits. A little angel: Christy said that she thought Matisse was perfect when he was born Christy's second child, Matisse, was born on March 31 in 2013 with the aid of her husband Ranu, who had to step in as midwife when their son decided to arrive much quicker than they expected. 'Matisse actually arrived before my midwife did because my labor was so fast. My husband caught him and he was perfect,' she said. Matisse, who is now two years old, has just become a big brother himself to two-day-old Alex, who Christy gave birth to without complications. The mum-of-three said that she had an amazing experience with the ECV and is passionate about seeing more hospitals offering the method as a natural option for mothers with breech babies
