Not just Australian wildlife they also have Cheetahs, Monkeys, Lemurs, Meerkats and Red Pandas. Close to 50 years old, I thought it would be run down and we'd only need an hour to cover the entire park. But we were wrong, although it is quite small we ended up spending close to 3 hours there. The Zoo house most of our Australian Native animals, Australian Birds, Reptiles and a quite few exotic animals from around the world. Getting there was not a problem and the was not overly crowded. I suppose coming mid-winter would be half the fun as the ticket includes a large splash park and a adventure playground. The zoo is well maintained, nice and clean with large open air enclosures for the animals. You need to include animal feed when you buy your tickets $2 a packet or 3 for $5. Easiest way is to buy your tickets online for a hassle free entry. (If you still have the NSW $50 parent Vouchers left they do accept these) All the enclosures are well maintained and looks as if they are new and recently constructed. The only thing letting them down is the Front entrance and the take away shop attached to entry, it really needs a sit it restaurant and a nicer entry, which I think they are constructing at the moment. There are two large shelters with tables and bench seating next to the entrance and one next to the Farmyard, but plenty of grassy open areas if you want to bring along a picnic lunch. There are 2 parts to our video, the first video cover the Australian Animals and birds, the Splash Park, and adventure playground and the second video covers a lot of the exotic animals from around the world. The animal Talk times don't always repeat so call up first and plan your trip around the time of your favorite animal. The general admission ticket is all that we needed, you can pay a little more for up close encounters with certain animals if you want.
