Betty Franks Art's video: Abstract painting intuitive painting art journal

⬇⬇ MORE INFO & LINKS BELOW ⬇⬇ This is a quick flip through of my small art journal where I do my warm up exercises, experiment with colors and just have fun. It's very freeing to paint on paper in a journal. I put down gesso on most of my pages (not all...depends on my mood) and then I use acrylic paint along with pencils, graphite, charcoal and different instruments to scratch in to the surface (toothpicks, palette knives, skewers, nails, putty knives, etc.). The journal was purchased at University Art in the California Bay Area. It has their name on it. But, really, any journal will do. This one has flimsy pages, so I glued two together in some cases. Plus I sometimes add yellow masking tape to the spine (center of the two pages) to keep them from falling apart. Honestly, there are better journals out their than this one for the amount of water/paint I put on it! Find one with heavy/thick pages.
