Beyond Shashank's video: Mandan Mishra - Darbhanga passenger arrival at Darbhanga junction with dual loco on front and rear

Two locomotives on front and rear end working with a small train of 5 coaches!! 55580 Mandan Mishra halt - Darbhanga passenger train (now running from Jhanjharpur) entering platform 2 of Darbhanga junction with two locomotives of Samastipur Diesel loco shed - WDM-3D 11488 (front) and WDG-3A 13172 "Shakti" (rear) . Because of lack of space for loco reversal at Mandan Mishra halt, this train was hauled by locomotives on both ends. However, this was not PUSH-PULL configuration of hauling train. Out of these two, only one worked as power and hauled the train. Second locomotive was just kept 'on' and wasn't used for controlling the train (i.e. speed control or for acceleration/retardation). In up journey (55579 train), from Darbhanga junction, leading loco hauled the train to Mandan Mishra halt. Next day, in return or down journey (55580 train), from Mandan Mishra halt, locomotive on other end hauled the train to Darbhanga junction. On December 03, the passenger service to Mandan Mishra halt was extended to Jhanjharpur. With the extension, concept of working of double locomotive with this small train of 5 coaches came to an end.
