Bill Russo's video: Scared to Death 1947 Bela Lugosi in color

Scared to Death is a 1947 film that has the distinction of being the only color film in which horror legend Bela Lugosi starred. And that is probably the only distinction we can give to this picture. It’s a bit short on plot – A nutty professor and his son are keeping the son’s wife in their private sanitarium against her will. Things get even shiftier when the nutty professor’s eccentric brother (Bela Lugosi) shows up – he’s a stage magician from Europe and he arrives with his partner in tow, a dwarf named Indigo. Lugosi, as always, delivers some funny lines, whether intentional or not. The picture has a 68 rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a typical review gives a nod to the campiness of the production: "Keeping fang firmly in cheek, there's much to be savored in this old dark house style mystery."
