I had a little bit of a cold starting around Christmas, but recovered just enough of my voice in time to make this video for New Year's Day. A couple of things to note: : On the right side of your view, you will see an external microphone on a stand. That is my Zoom H2 portable audio recorder. I was using it to record a clearer, fuller version of my vocals than the camcorder microphone captures. It has nothing to do with gameplay; it was just used to enhance the sound of this video. You should be able to hear where I mixed the audio from it in with the camcorder audio during the main part of the song. : The 99% FC glitch that I mention at the end of the video refers to the fact that, in the Rock Band 3 vocals engine, you can get a full combo (no missed phrases and 100% on every section on the stats screen), but the game engine still gives you only 99%. This is (typically) caused by "dropping ticks" on phrases, or in other words the game engine allows you to keep combo, even when you fail to fill up just a tiny tiny amount of the phrase meter. This glitch has been around ever since this style of vocal engine was introduced with TBRB. : Choosing to do this in the "original octave" made this about a bazillion times harder than it would have been had I octave shifted. I had no trouble at all with any of the higher phrases, but the low phrases were initially a beast because they are at the absolute lowest part of my range (Hey, I'm no Icemage), though I did eventually figure out a way to sing them with better consistency. If I had octave shifted, I would have been done with this in just a couple of runs, but instead it took a good bit longer. : This is the first PMFC I've done where I actually took the time to memorize the lyrics. Woohoo! : I bought the hoodie on http://www.droid-life.com : Thanks to all of you for your support in 2010 and be on the lookout for lots of new videos in 2011!
