Buddhi Bahadur Chepang ( बुद्धि बहादुर चेपांग ), a resident of Kaling (Kaule VDC-3, Chitwan) sings a song in Chepang language... Chepangs are one of the highly marginalised indigenous peoples who reside mainly in the hills of Dhading, Chitwan and Makwanpur districts of central Nepal. In the last two to three decades, with the intervention of development agencies and expansion of markets, Chepang peoples in general engage in commercial agriculture. Given that the conversion of Chepang peoples into Christianity is rapid and high, there are fewer people who speak Chepang language. In addition, during my at least once-a-year visits here in Chepang, I see most of them do not communicate in their mother-tongue. Thanks to Buddhi Bahadur Chepang who showed his excellence and sang a song in his own language, for us to record.
