I conclude that we should not. This is a form of theft-- and to complicate matters, it's almost always impossible to know if coins are truly lost-- or just dormant. I also discuss how the quantity of a money is not important, since its price can adjust upwards or downwards to make the market cap of the money large enough to service any sized economy.
