In this tutorial series, we are going to create a car render from the ground up. We will begin with a set of reference images and end with a car. The methods used in these tutorials can be translated from this specific car to any car, whether it is a sports car, a luxury car, or another type of car. The principles of good topology and watching the lines of the car apply in each situation. Part 13. In this episode, we are working on creating the materials for the car. We will start with the headlights, and work our way around the car until we have created all of the materials. I will show you some different techniques for getting different materials and looks. For the head lights, we will use the uv projection tool so we can use a headlight bump map to create the grooves in the surface. Then on the tail lights, we will also uv project it, but instead of using an image texture to create the grooves we will use the wave texture instead. The car paint will be completely procedural, using the voronoi texture in order to get the nice metallic flecks in the paint. The leather will also use the voronoi cells texture, but instead of using it to influence colours, we will use it as a bump map to get the rough texture of leather.
