Connie Britton sat down with SHE Media VP of Video, Reshma Gopaldas, for a keynote at Creators Summit in Brooklyn, New York and shared with the audience how she got her start in acting. She told us about her big break in “The Brothers McMullen,” and cult favorite TV shows like, “Spin City,” “24,” “Friday Night Lights,” “American Horror Story: Murder House," “Nashville,” and “Dirty John.” Connie has signed a development deal with Amazon, and her hope with the deal is to promote women-driven storytelling. When asked, as a woman in entertainment, what the biggest challenge in the industry is, and if she feels empowered to make decisions that people don’t like, Connie responded, “It’s really hard as a woman to say something that people don’t like,” and how she struggles with being perceived as a bitch. Connie goes into depth about developing her character, Tami Taylor, in “Friday Night Lights,” and her thoughts on a "Friday Night Lights" reunion. She also talks about social causes she supports, and her trip to the Mexican border. -- A four-time Emmy® award-nominated actress, Britton most recently starred in and executive produced Bravo’s limited series, Dirty John, which earned her a second Golden Globe nomination. She has starred in Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1. and in the Golden Globe® nominated, SMILF. She is best known for her Emmy® award-nominated roles, starring in Friday Night Lights and Nashville, which also earned her a Golden Globe® nomination. She received another Emmy® Award nomination for her role in the first installment of American Horror Story. Additional television credits include: American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, Spin City, 24, and The West Wing. Her film credits include Professor Marston & the Wonder Woman, Beatriz at Dinner, Me & Earl & the Dying Girl, This Is Where I Leave You, The To-Do List, Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, American Ultra and The Brothers McMullen, where she made her feature film debut. She recently completed production on “ Good Joe Bell,” in which she stars alongside Mark Wahlberg.
