Moreover, whatever the concept of his tours, the orchestra that accompanies him bears the name of Sons Of Blues, which is why the site brings together the two entities on the same shelf. Formed in the mid-70s, The Sons Of Blues saw its early founders (Lurrie and Carrey Bell, Freddie Dixon) depart as quickly as they arrived. In fact Billy BRANCH has become the tutelary figure of this formation with interchangeable geometry. We are now in 1985, BRANCH had recorded only a handful of albums counting on the fingers of one hand, a rich discography to which it is advisable to add titles appearing in three compilations including those dedicated to the American Folk Blues Festival 1982. The Sons of Blues was formed by Billy Branch, a vocalist and harmonica virtuoso bluesman who is now a leading figure in Chicago blues! The Sons of Blues is now reissued from the treasured recordings left on a minor French label in 1985 when guitarist Carl Weathersby was still with the band! The reissue of blues works from the popular reissue series "BLACK & BLUE" is finally complete! To commemorate this event, all 46 works, including 35 previously released works and 11 newest works. "You've Stayed Away Too Long" reveals itself as a good Chicago Blues on the border of Rockin' Blues in a style close to Little WALTER and Walter Horton. The combo tackles "As The Years Go Passing By", accredited to Deadric Malone (aka Don ROBEY) but likely the work of Peppermint Harris.
