It's kind of a surprise, I guess, because I'm assuming many people will fall in love with this song like I have. It's another gold from Absolute Castaway, and it's from one of their best albums ever released. I have yet to start translating this album though, but once I'm done translating other stuff on my list, this is definitely next, hehe. In case you are wondering, this song is actually talking about the modernisation/Westernising of Japan. Which explains why we see a girl in a yukata and another in Western clothes in the video. And the song does a good job of representing this with a pop/rock song that has oriental undertones (which... is pretty much what Absolute Castaway is made up of lol). TRANSLATION NOTES: “towards the right” (右へ, “migi e”) In case you were unaware, Eastern text are usually read from right to left. Some stuff in Japan and Taiwan still follow this pattern (eg manga and novels), but some countries like China have totally changed their stuff to the Western way of reading left to right. “miniature garden” (箱庭, “hakoniwa”) Lit. “boxed garden”. Every time I come across this word it’s meant to be a double-meaning or a pun of some kind, and this is no exception. “Western wear” and “fashionable” (ハイカラ, “HAIKARA”) Ah yes, double-meaning again. The same word is used twice in this line, but it obviously means different things.
