Bohemian Bootlegs's video: Queen- Live in Osaka 3 29 1976 Late Show

The shows go on! This is the second of the two Osaka Festival Hall shows. As usual for Japan, the quality is excellent, and the show is complete. The concert is not exactly excellent, however. But not bad. Freddie's voice is in pretty good shape overall, but due to the strain of the two show day, plus apparently being quite drunk (Big party after the first show) he has some not-so-good moments, which will be talked about. Going through the songs: The rock section of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is decent, albeit conservative, "Ogre Battle" has some weak spots (Odd phrasing in the bridge, and dodging the A4) but sounds pretty good overall, "Sweet Lady" is bad as Freddie does awkward phrasing to get around the high parts and cracks a few times, "White Queen" is very good bar odd phrasing on "Stars of lovingness", "Flick Of The Wrist" is bad with Freddie singing the choruses on E4 and having several cracks, the verses of "Bohemian Rhapsody" are poor with Freddie completely bungling the lyrics in the first verse and sounding strained, "Killer Queen" is pretty good bar some odd phrasing, "The March Of The Black Queen" has Freddie fall flat on two of the A4s, but sounds decent overall, the reprise of "Bohemian Rhapsody" sounds great, and "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" is conservative but fine. "Brighton Rock" sounds good, and the guitar solo is tops, "Son And Daughter" is good with phrasing that resembles early versions, "The Prophet's Song" is good, with a very creative improv, "Stone Cold Crazy" sounds great and is really fast, "Doing All Right" is very good, though Freddie dodges a G at the end, "Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon" sounds good, plus Freddie aces the "Zoo" Bb4, "Keep Yourself Alive" has some rough spots (Bad phrasing and band flubs intro) but is decent, "Liar" is good, though Brian screws up the intro, "In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited" has strain in spots but sounds decent, "Now I'm Here" has Freddie dodging the second A4 but is good, "Big Spender" is good, though the A4 is rough, and "Jailhouse Rock" is great, with lots of energy.
