Bohemian Bootlegs's video: Queen- Live in Tokyo 4 19 1975

@Queen- Live in Tokyo, 4/19/1975
We move along! This is Queen's first ever show in Japan, at Tokyo's Budokan, and the first show on the Japanese leg of the SHA tour. In a big increase from prior legs, of the 8 shows on the tour only 1 (Fukuoka 4/25) doesn't currently have a recording. For this leg of the tour the setlist is lengthened, with the first performances of "Doing All Right", as well "Seven Seas Of Rhye" and "See What A Fool I've Been" are added to the set, and "Killer Queen" now includes the second verse and chorus. This makes the show a lot longer than before. The recording is a mix of two sources, one in very good quality (speed originally half-semitone slow, fixed it), and one which is more distant, but still decent (I also eliminated bass distortion and hiss). The combo is complete, sans a cut on "Son And Daughter". And what we have here is a good show! The audience is VERY enthusiastic throughout, often drowning out the band (Freddie has to remind them to quiet down several times). And despite some instability at times, Freddie's voice is in good shape overall! Going through the songs... "Now I'm Here" has some intonation issues in spots, but is very good overall, "Ogre Battle" has a few rough spots (Freddie cracks on the second "COME to Ogre Battle" and Brian has guitar trouble) but is good with Freddie hitting most of the A4s, "Father To Son" is great, "White Queen" sounds great, "Flick Of The Wrist" is good, "Doing All Right" sounds great though Freddie dodges notes in the bridge, "In The Lap Of The Gods" is a great version with Freddie doing some interesting phrasing and Roger being on-key in his part, "Killer Queen" sounds great with Freddie phrasing it close to the studio, "The March Of The Black Queen" is excellent with Freddie acing the A4s, and "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" sounds good. "Son And Daughter" is good with a great solo, "Keep Yourself Alive" has Freddie cracking an ad-lib Bb4, but sounds good with a killer drum break, "Seven Seas Of Rhye" is great overall though the second A4 is strained, "Stone Cold Crazy" sounds great, "Liar" is good, "In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited" sounds poor (Freddie is unstable and cracks several times), "Big Spender" has Freddie straining the A4 but sounds good, "Modern Times Rock And Roll" is flying fast and sounds good, "Jailhouse Rock" sounds great, and "See What A Fool I've Been" has a few cracks but sounds good overall with Freddie being daring! ENJOY!
