Sridevi was an Indian film actress who worked in Telugu ,Tamil ,Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.Her acting career started in Tamil films as a child artist in the films Thunaivan. She made her debut as an adult in the late 1970s. Regarded as one of the finest actresses in India, Sri's performances in films in a variety of genres have earned her praise and awards . She left the industry in 1997 to raise her children. During her career, she won five Filmfare Awards: three for Hindi films and one each for Tamil and Telugu films. Her comeback was with English Vinglish in 2012. In total she has done 300 films in her life time of acting in various Indian languages.
