Alfred and George Monteverde, brothers from Portugal, crashed at 6:38PM, June 22 1935 in an attempted take-off from Floyd Bennett Field for a non-stop fight to Rome. The fliers were not injured. The aircraft was a Bellanca J-2 Special 31-55. The plane was written off after this incident. No other info available
