Brian Burk's video: Brian Burk - American Ninja Warrior 11 Submission Video

@Brian Burk - American Ninja Warrior 11 Submission Video
So here is my submission video, my ticket into the American Ninja Warrior TV Show. Unbelievably, I got the call to compete on season 11. And also beyond belief, all my runs were aired. You can take a look at my qualifying run to see what my experience was like on the course. My ANW 11 Qualifying Run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7CjyZZRJsw Looking back when I started at Arnold's gym, I just wanted to see what it was like to do some of the obstacles. As expected, they were as hard as hell. I couldn't imagine myself on the course because of how taxing the obstacles are, particularly grip. At the time, I went to Arnold's only on Saturdays approximately every 2 or 3 weeks. But as the years went by, after the Movement Lab Ninja Training Grounds opened, I got stronger and better at the obstacles. I figured I was ready to compete by the time ANW 11 came. When I was at the taping event in LA, I had to wait several hours until I was the 79th runner. And it was raining, so I wasn't sure if I would even run that night. I had no expectations as to how I would do on the course. I ended up completing the qualifying course coming in with the 9th fastest time. During the finals, luckily I looked more polished and focused. Again, I didn't think about how far I would get on the course. It was just as exciting that night as of the night before (Qualifying) to be on the course. I made it to the 9th obstacle, where my forearms and grip were numb because of that save I made prior to the one I fell on, which used up a lot of my grip strength. I was blown away when Zuri told me the juicy news that I was going to Vegas. I did more interviews with the producers and I had the time of my life being a celebrity for the moment of my victories. After the episodes aired, my social media statistics skyrocketed, and I got tons of notifications and a bunch of people writing articles about me. I got to share my gymnastics story in the episode. In qualifying they said I have high-functioning autism, which is true. But it only affects me in very extreme situations. I think it's the reason why I memorize many equations and long lists of things. I do have a tendency to learn a lot slower than others, but I seem to pick up more information, and lots of people ask me for things, like in school. Lots of people come up to me for help, and that always gives me a good feeling when I satisfy what they need. My parents think I have a semi-photographic memory. When I was in Vegas, I got to meet a lot of the top ninjas all over the country, and I met many new friends. The best part though, is how down to Earth a lot of the ninjas were. They all had a positive attitude, and let me enter into the ninja warrior family. As with my performance in Vegas, I was hoping to complete stage 1, but I shockingly went down on the 3rd obstacle. I've done the double dipper before, but there's no clear technique with some of these obstacles. I went down with honor, and promised to be back next year.
