@Replacing the GT 86 Hachi Roku's Advics front brake pads and rotors with the Brembo Xtra
NOTE: The pads used in this video are the Brembo Xtra P 78 013X which are incorrect for this vehicle. The correct model is P 78 021X. While both are identical, the P 78 021X comes with 4 acoustic wear indicators, 4 pad shims and new brake hardware. This video explains and demonstrates the tools, consumables and steps required to replace the Subaru BRZ / GT 86 front brake rotors and pads with the Brembo Xtra line models. This is an OEM replacement, i.e. identical size and dimensions pads and rotors that are fully compatible with the existing Tokico brake system. The Brembo products required are: 1) Brembo 09.A921.1X - This is the model for the Xtra line rotor which are made from High Carbon steel and are dimpled. These also have the UV coating. Brembo does non Xtra rotors as well and the correct models of the normal rotors for this vehicle are Brembo 09.A921.14 or Brembo 09.A921.11 (UV Coated). The Toyota OEM number for this is (SU00300586) 2) Brembo P 78 021X - This is the correct front brake pads that are compatible with the original caliper and the rotors listed above. Brembo does a non Xtra pad as well which is the Brembo P 78 021. The Toyota OEM number for this are (SU00304089, SU00304678, SU00307199) Brembo recommends using the Xtra pads and rotors together. Brembo does not produce Xtra brake components for the rear brakes on these vehicles. Wet brake performance The holes serve to prevent water film that may form on the braking surface. Even when driving on slick roads the brake system responds effectively already at the first braking. Brake system cooling The presence of the holes leads to greater air circulation, resulting in improved heat dissipation capability and its increased performance. MADE FOR EACH OTHER The Xtra pads are a perfect partner for the Max and Xtra discs. They enhance their excellent performances and ensure a complete control over the braking action, providing the full pleasure of sports driving. The special BRM X L01 compound has over 30 different components and stand out for a high friction coefficient. This means that the braking will be more prompt and stable, both at high temperatures as well as at low ones. All this while a greater driving comfort and an improved brake pedal precision are ensured without impairing the product's mileage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
