@Sushi Cake for Valentine's Day!
Soundcloud music: Sould Jazz Records- Music to the Sould Mix https://soundcloud.com/soul-jazz-records/mirror-to-the-soul-clips Sushi Cake serves 4-6 people 2 eggs 1 teaspoon sugar 1 pinch salt oil - Beat the eggs in a bowl with sugar and salt. Grease a nonstick pan. Add the eggs and swirl it into a very thin layer. Flip the egg and cook for 10 more second. Remove to cool.Layer sections of the egg and slice into thin strips. 2 Persian cucumbers - To make hearts, slice cucumber on a very sharp angle. Overlap the two slices to create a heart shape. I made about 6 hearts. Stack the rest of the slices and thinly slice the stack into matchsticks. 2 cups artificial crabmeat 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (kewpie if you can get it) 1 teaspoon sriracha hot sauce - Mix ingredients in a bowl and set aside. 10 small sheets of green laver (toasted seaweed crisps) - Stack and cut into strips using a pair of scissors. 8-10 thin and small slices of smoked salmon - Roll two pieces of smoked salmon and shape into a heart. I made about 4 heart shapes. Assembling the cake: - Grease a heart shaped mold and place it on the serving plate that you are using. - Spread sushi rice out and section it into 3 equal portions making sure it's completely cooled before using. - Mix seaweed into one section of the rice. The other two sections will be plain. - for the first layer add white rice and press down firmly. - Next, add the crabmeat salad and press down gently. - Next, add the seaweed rice and press down firmly. - Next, sprinkle on shredded cucumber and egg reserving some for garnish if you'd like. -Last, add last layer of white rice and press down firmly. - Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced spring onion. - Gently remove the mold and clean up and reshape cake if need be. - Garnish cake with smoked salmon hearts, cucumber heart, egg, and crabmeat salad anyway you like! Get creative! Also, fish roe and shrimp would be a delicious addition. - Serve with in one day of making this special Valentine's Day treat!
