What to eat before running? I like to have a small-medium apple 1-2 hours before running, along with 8oz of water an hour before. Tip: A protein bar will work too. Make sure the sugar content is low. Having too much sugar could cause painful cramps during your run. If you drink too much water closer to your run, it can be uncomfortable while running.
