Bruno Vassel's video: Glider Record Stopped by a Wall of Water

Some soaring flights you experience about everything possible - epic skies and clouds, amazingly strong lift, beautiful mountains, scary but fun ridge running just feet above the trees, flying along cloud shelves with black walls of rain falling along side of you, long glides into the blue still air trying to get to far away clouds, lightning in front of you telling you to go away, low saves above the desert, fast final glide home, failure to complete task, short field landing just the way you planned, down safe but the storm is just 10 minutes away from hitting the airfield and you must get your glider back into the hangar to safety before the winds and sheets of rain hit. Yeah - that about sums up this flight. I was attempting to break a 500km triangle state speed record and got within just a few miles of making it but an impassible wall of water said it was not to be broken today. What a fun flight in so many ways even though the main objective was a failure.
