Glider pilots have complete control over exactly where we land. Even though there is no engine, we have controls (like spoilers and flaps) that allow us to fly a controlled, normal pattern around a runway, touch down exactly where we want, and stop exactly where we want to. It does take some practice to get good, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun! This glider is landing at Nephi airport about 60 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah. The glider is an ASW27.
