The launch was held on 18 November 2022. ABOUT THE REPORT Australia is working to eliminate hepatitis C as a public health threat by 2030. The 'Australia’s progress towards hepatitis C elimination' report brings together key data to provide an overview of our progress toward this important goal. The latest report brings together data from 27 sources and provides an overview of progress towards hepatitis C elimination in key areas including: trends in new infections, testing and diagnosis, treatment uptake, morbidity, stigma and discrimination, primary prevention, equity, and mathematical and economic modelling. The 2022 report has updated and new data on hepatitis C indicators among priority populations, and highlights the urgent need to improve the rates of testing and treatment if Australia is to stay on track and meet its elimination goals. At the launch event, highlights of the report were presented with a Q&A discussion on the data collated in the report, and how we can progress the elimination of hepatitis C as a public health threat in Australia.
