@What happened to the world's ozone hole? (Hindi) | But Why
One of the most effective international environmental treaties is the 1987-signed Montreal Protocol. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which were shown to be harming the ozone layer, were to be phased out. According to a recent UN report, 99% of compounds that harm the ozone layer have been phased out, and between 2040 and 2066, the ozone layer is predicted to revert to its condition in 1980. The accord has not only aided in UV radiation protection but also in reducing climate change. CFCs have a strong greenhouse effect, and the Montreal Protocol's implementation has prevented about 1°C of warming by 2050.
