My performance of “September” with the legendary Allee Willis!! Do you remember the 21st night of September? One of my favorite moments of my career. I have told this story countless times, but here it is on VIDEO!!! Allee Willis, the co-writer of “September” invited me to perform at her annual September party where she would celebrate the song (over the years, she’s had members from EWF perform), and she asked me to sing MY VERSION. Allee said it was one of the best covers she ever heard. I was blown away and simply honored to even be in her presence. When I first met Allee, she felt like an auntie, she was family. We worked on a couple songs together (still to be released) and we had plans to grow and build together. She sadly passed away last year, but I am grateful that I had the privilege of experiencing her magic as a beautiful soul as well as one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
