CADD Microsystems's video: Revit DC User Group - April 2019

@Revit DC User Group - April 2019
The RevitDC User Group is one of the largest user groups in the country. Hear from local Revit users as they share their ideas, methods and best practices. Network with industry peers and build your skills in a relaxed and casual environment – ideal for all skill levels – beginners to power users. Agenda: 6:00pm - 6:20pm Networking- Food and drink served 6:20pm - 6:30pm Introductions 6:30pm – 7:00pm Family Issues Presented by Chris Harrison, Quinn Evans Architects How to keep the peace when there are multiple options in the Family. In this session, you will see some unique ways to use Revit families to streamline your project. 7:00pm - 7:30pm Dynamo Player for Everyone Presented by Timon Hazell, Silman If you are a Revit guru, Dynamo is a common term for you. How do you engage others in your office to use these scripts? The node connection lines are helpful for some, but the “spaghetti mess” scares others from ever opening and using these efficiency tools. Don’t let them miss out. Modify your scripts and roll them out in Dynamo Player. Join us as we build a simple script together, roll it out to the “office” and then apply it across the projects. 7:30pm - 8:00pm What is Forge and Why Should I Care Presented by Jason Kunkel, CADD Microsystems Collaboration on project files and even Revit models is getting easier thanks to hosted solutions like BIM 360. But as more projects move to the cloud, there are more firm and project specific workflows that need to move there as well. Forge is a collection of software platforms that lets developers build custom solutions to review models, create PDFs, export information to other web platforms, or even edit a Revit model. And the best part is, it can all be done through a web browser opening up design information and decisions to everyone on the project… not just the Revit users. We will cover the basics of what Forge is and cover some examples of what is being done and what can be done with it to make your lives easier.
