2021 Dacia Spring Electric - Driving, Exterior & Interior Design Dacia begins a new chapter in its history by unveiling its first 100% electric model. Spring Electric is a revolution: this electric city car, which is the most advantageous on the market, makes electric mobility even more accessible. With its revolutionary SUV look, it is equipped with record roominess, simple and reliable electric motorization and reassuring autonomy. Its incisive line is equipped with elements from the world of SUVs with widened wheel arches, roof bars, reinforced front underbody, rear skis and greater ground clearance (150 mm when the car is empty). With broad shoulders and a curved hood, Spring Electric evokes a feeling of ruggedness. Its reassuring structure portends a great interior habitability and yet Spring Electric is a real city car: despite appearances, it has small dimensions (3.73 m long, 1.62 m wide excluding rear-view mirrors and 1.51 m high). The front reveals a strong personality with the sharp LED headlights, whose horizontal line continues in the design of the grille, the ribbed bonnet and the large bumper. Spring Electric's front grille is solid, a hallmark of electric vehicles. Very modern, it features 3D reliefs and elegantly conceals the charging flap that opens from the passenger compartment. The taillights feature a new Dacia Y-shaped light signature. Equipped with great personality, Spring Electric is proud of its look, accentuated by a colorful pack available in the launch version: the mirrors, the decorative part of the roof bars and the edges under the headlights are orange. With this set-up, electric mobility is full of style and becomes fun. The wheel covers of Spring Electric mimic alloy wheels from an aesthetic point of view. This effect is made possible by the “Flexwheel” technology: the sheet metal rims are perforated to allow elegant wheel covers to be installed. The upper part of the rear brings out the vocation as a family city car of Spring Electric, thanks to the curved rear window, rounded headlights and soft curves. Instead, the underside boasts the reassuring elements of SUVs: the rear features a sturdy unpainted bumper and a gray-tinted protective ski, the reflectors are housed in fake air intakes and the rear fenders are ribbed. These stylistic artifices make Spring Electric's rear silhouette more dynamic. On board, Dacia Spring Electric offers a spacious trunk and interior. The comfortable and well-equipped cabin can comfortably accommodate four adults. Standard equipment includes 100% electric variable assistance steering, remote central locking and four electric windows. A 3.5 ”digital display is provided so that the driver does not take his eyes off the road and his hands from the steering wheel, while Google or Apple voice recognition can be activated by simply pressing a button on the steering wheel. As an option, manual climate control, multimedia system, electric rear-view mirrors and a spare wheel are available. The cockpit of Spring Electric features blue inserts in correspondence with the air vents and the central display. The boot offers the best load capacity in its category: 300 liters (excluding the space under the boot for the optional spare wheel). A cargo volume worthy of the upper segment. For greater modularity, the rear bench can be folded down to allow for a load capacity of approximately 600 liters. The 33 kW (equivalent to 44 horsepower) 100% electric motor is associated with a 26.8 kWh battery. This technology can count on all the electrical skills of the Renault Group, which boasts decades of experience that is unique in the world. Reliable, robust and safe, the motor offers many advantages: linear acceleration without jerks, silent operation and absence of vibrations. When used, Spring Electric is cheaper than equivalent thermal models as the costs for energy and maintenance are significantly lower. For greater freedom, Spring Electric offers a wide choice of recharging: on a 220V domestic socket thanks to the cable supplied as standard, on a Wallbox or on a direct current column (both solutions with the optional cable).
