@Live: Explore giant wood carving of China's Grand Canal in Fujian
2024 is the 10th anniversary of the inscription for UNESCO World Heritage site for the Grand Canal (the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal) in China. In April 2023, in southeast China's Fujian Province, a team led by Zheng Chunhui, a representative inheritor of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage project "Putian wood carving," planned to create a giant wood carving called "The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal" over a period of five years. The wood carving is composed of nine camphor trees that are over 500 years old, and showcases the prosperous canal transportation and the cultural landscapes of the cities along its banks.
