CIRCOMRegional's video: CCMA - Salvador Manera hero of the sea

@CCMA - Salvador Manera, hero of the sea
Original title: Salvador Manera, un heroi del mar Salvador Manera is a fisherman and activist from the Port de la Selva, in Catalonia. His work and the contact with marine scientists and divers have made him aware that measures must be taken to promote sustainable fishing and that the recovery and conservation of the seabed must also be helped. For this reason, apart from collaborating with researchers from the Superior Council of Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Institute of Marine Sciences in programs such as MITICAP (mitigation of the impacts of fishing) and RESCAP (recovery of populations of gorgonians), he is also very active in bringing this change of consciousness to society with the support of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund. With the Pescaplàstik project, he organises activities such as waste collection and, as a clown, talks about sustainability with the kids. He also organises workshops to explain in a didactic and entertaining way the importance of sustainable fishing. Reportage produced by CCMA within CIRCOM Citizen Heroes Co-Production. Coproduction supported by European Commission. Web: www.circom-regional.eu FB: https://www.facebook.com/CIRCOMRegional Twitter: https://twitter.com/CIRCOMRegional
